Google Spotlight Stories is a special program that Google was sponsoring to highlight the creative capabilities of Virtual Reality. One of the best examples in the program is "Age of Sail". It's a story about William Avery (Ian McShane), an old sailor adrift and alone in the North Atlantic. When Avery rescues Lara, who has mysteriously fallen overboard, he finds redemption and hope in his darkest hours. An official selection of the Venice Film Festival. Age of Sail was directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker John Kahrs. This creative endeavor was produced in collaboration with Chromosphere and Evil Eye Pictures for the Emmy Award-winning Google Spotlight Stories platform. It's available for free on Steam.
