In the early days of any particular technology, it's always helpful to have an incredible tech demo that can show off the future possibilities of the new entertainment medium. Virtual Reality is no different. In VR's early days, Oculus decided to partner up with one of the most advanced game developers on planet Earth, Epic Games. The mission was to make an absolutely kick-ass demonstration of VR technology. The result was a powerful tech demo known as "Showdown". The Showdown demo takes you through a guns-blazing scenario where ammo and debris is flying over your head in slow-motion, much like one of the Michael Bay Transformer movies.  In fact, that's the first thing that popped into my head while trying it.
