First two episodes of The Exorcist: Legion VR set to arrive on November 22nd

The dawn of episodic VR gaming is almost upon us. Wolf & Wood Interactive, in combination with Legion VR, are going to bring out the first two episodes, of an episodic tale in The Exorcist universe on November 22nd. The Exorcist: Legion VR, is of course the follow up project to the much celebrated A Chair in a Room. Wolf & Wood Interactive's first VR game is currently ranked the No.1 horror game on our Top 20 Horror Games All-Platforms rankings. This time around, the game is being broken up into bite sized chunks. The first two chapters available at launch include First Rites and Idle Hands. First Rites will be available for $4, with Idle Hands available for $5. Chapters 3 through 5 will release either later this year, or very early in 2018.

Each individual chapter is expected to have a play time of roughly 20 to 25 minutes. The price to play ratio seems relatively fair, assuming each chapter packs a powerful punch. Now, normally it would be hard to assume excellence, but this is Wolf & Wood Interactive. Of course, any developer that has to follow up a cult classic is under some degree of pressure. Especially now that they've stepped up into the big leagues with one of the most recognizable names in the Horror genre. The Exorcist isn't known for being a hot video game property, but Legion VR is hoping this game will change all that. Grabbing a talented developer like Wolf & Wood Interactive made all the sense in the world, so we'll have to see how this gamble pays off.

Personally, I like the idea of buying games in bite sized chunks, because it usually doesn't take too long to know if you like the flavor of something or not. I'm sure most gamers will know within minutes of finishing First Rites whether or not they should plunk down another $5 on Idle Hands. The dev has a vested interest in making sure each chapter lives up to the hype, because if it doesn't, the sales of future chapters are likely to suffer. When this game comes to PlayStation VR in 2018, it's actually expected to arrive as the complete collection with all 5 chapters.
